eSIM FAQ: getting started

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM profile that you add to a compatible phone. Instead of inserting another physical card, you install the profile using the details supplied with your plan. Your chosen package determines its data, coverage and validity. Learn more in our eSIM guide.

What is Teliny?

Teliny is a travel eSIM service for exploring country and regional data plans. First, compare your destination and trip length with the package details. Then check compatibility and current availability. Visit About Teliny for operator and contact information.

Does an eSIM make my connection faster?

Not by itself. Speed depends on the selected plan, supported network, phone, location and signal. Also, high-speed allowances and reduced speeds may apply. Check the package details rather than assuming that eSIM automatically means faster internet.

Can I use an eSIM alongside my usual SIM?

On supported dual-SIM phones, you can keep your usual line and use another line for data. First, check your phone’s capabilities. Then select which line handles data, calls and messages. Your home carrier may still charge for calls, texts or roaming.

Where should I start?

First, check that your exact phone model supports eSIM and is unlocked for the service. Next, review your destination’s coverage and the plan’s validity. Our destination directory and installation guide help you compare options and prepare.

eSIM FAQ: compatibility & installation

Will an eSIM work on my phone?

Support varies by model, regional version and service. Therefore, check your manufacturer’s specifications and carrier restrictions before choosing a plan. An Add eSIM setting can help identify setup options, but it does not guarantee that every package will work.

How do I check whether my iPhone is unlocked?

On an iPhone, open Settings, then General and About. Apple says an unlocked phone shows No SIM Restrictions beside Carrier Lock. If a restriction appears, ask your carrier about unlocking before choosing another service. See Apple’s travel eSIM guidance.

What do I need for installation?

Prepare a compatible, network-unlocked phone, a reliable internet connection and your plan’s installation details. Also, read the activation instructions first: downloading a profile and starting a plan’s validity can be separate events. Keep the installation code private.

How do I install on iPhone?

Start in Settings, then Cellular or Mobile Service, and look for Add eSIM. Next, follow your provider’s instructions. Menu labels and available methods vary. Use the Teliny phone-by-phone guide together with the instructions supplied for your exact package.

eSIM FAQ: setup on your phone

How do I install on Samsung Galaxy?

On a supported Galaxy phone, check Settings, Connections and SIM manager for the option to add an eSIM. Then follow the supplied setup method. Availability varies by device and market; consult Samsung’s official guide for device-specific help.

How do I install on Google Pixel?

Google’s guide directs users to Settings, Network & internet, SIMs, Add SIM and Set up an eSIM. Next, follow the prompts and your provider’s instructions. The process can differ by carrier. See Google’s official Pixel setup guide.

Can I use a QR code displayed on the same phone?

This depends on your phone, software and installation method. Some setups accept a saved image or an installation link; others require another screen or manual details. Therefore, follow the package instructions rather than assuming that every camera or QR workflow is supported.

Does installation start my plan?

Not always. A package may begin on installation, manual activation or connection to a supported network. Therefore, check its activation trigger before installing it. Do not assume every Teliny plan or trial follows the same timing rule.

Using your eSIM while travelling

Which line should I choose for mobile data?

Select the travel eSIM as your mobile-data line when you are ready to use it. Also, review automatic data switching so your phone does not unexpectedly fall back to another line. Follow your device and plan instructions for calls, messages and roaming.

Should I enable data roaming?

Enable roaming on the travel line only when its package instructions require it. Meanwhile, keep home-line data roaming off if you do not want to use your home carrier’s roaming data. An eSIM alone does not prevent charges on another active line.

Can I keep WhatsApp and my contacts?

Adding a travel eSIM does not itself replace your WhatsApp account or delete the contacts stored on your phone. Keep your existing registered number if that is what you want to use. Also, check any account-verification prompts before changing numbers.

Are normal calls, SMS and a phone number included?

Do not assume they are included. Data-only packages provide internet access, while conventional calls, SMS or a phone number depend on the offer. Instead, check the package details. Supported internet calling and messaging apps use your available data.

Sharing data and crossing borders

Can I share data with a laptop or another device?

Hotspot use depends on your phone and selected package. First, check whether tethering is allowed and whether extra limits apply. A connected laptop uses the same plan allowance and may consume data quickly through updates, backups or video streaming.

Will a regional plan cover every country in a region?

No. A regional or global package covers only the destinations listed in its details. Therefore, check every stop and border crossing in your itinerary. Coverage can also vary within an included country, particularly in remote areas.

What should I do when I return home?

Review your mobile-data settings and restore your usual line if needed. Then turn off a travel line you no longer need. Keep its profile installed until you have checked whether reuse or reinstallation is supported; deleting it can make recovery harder.

eSIM FAQ: plans, data & validity

How do I choose the right data plan?

First, compare your destinations, trip duration and typical data use. Maps and messages may use less than streaming or cloud backups. Then compare coverage, total price, validity and activation rules. Choose for your needs rather than the largest headline allowance.

What does unlimited data mean?

Unlimited does not necessarily mean unlimited full-speed data. A package may include a daily high-speed allowance followed by a reduced speed. Also, hotspot rules and other fair-use terms may apply. Read the selected plan and fair usage policy before choosing.

When does the daily high-speed allowance reset?

Reset timing depends on the package. Therefore, check its terms and instructions rather than assuming that the allowance resets at local midnight. The same rule may not apply to every destination or provider.

How do I check my remaining data?

Use the usage information provided for your package or contact support if it is unavailable. Your phone’s data counter can help estimate use, but it may differ from the provider’s records or include other lines. Check the selected billing period and SIM.

Can I top up or reuse the same profile?

Only compatible additional plans or top-ups can be added to an installed profile. Reuse and renewal are not guaranteed for every offer. Therefore, check the specific package before purchasing another plan or deleting the existing profile.

What happens when my data or validity ends?

Service may stop when a fixed allowance or validity period ends. Next, check whether a compatible top-up or another package is available. Do not assume automatic renewal or an extension: the selected plan’s stated terms control what happens.

eSIM FAQ: free trial questions

What does the trial page currently show?

The free eSIM trial page displays a 1 GB, one-day offer for eligible destinations, customers and devices. However, the Trial & Referral Terms explain current availability and eligibility. A displayed offer or button does not by itself confirm that a live trial has been issued.

How do I check trial eligibility?

First, review the trial terms and your selected destination. The advertised offer is limited to one trial per eligible customer and device. If eligibility or current availability is unclear, contact Teliny before relying on the trial for an upcoming trip.

Does a trial authorize payment or automatic renewal?

The current trial information states that no payment is required, and the trial terms do not authorize automatic payment merely by trying a trial. Also, check any future offer terms before accepting an upgrade or another service.

Can I use the trial as my only travel connection?

Check that claiming and delivery are currently available and that a usable profile has actually been issued. Also, verify your destination and activation rules. Keep an alternative connection for essential travel tasks, especially if you have not tested the service.

Orders, payments & refunds

Can I place a paid order on the public website now?

Teliny’s current Terms & Conditions state that paid checkout is not enabled on the public website. A displayed price, plan or button does not create an order. Review the current terms and checkout information when purchases become available.

How would digital eSIM delivery work?

The current terms describe digital delivery after successful payment and order acceptance, when purchases become available. Delivery may include a QR code, manual details or a supported installation link. However, checks or technical problems can cause delays; contact support if delivery is missing.

Can I request a refund for an unused plan?

The Refund & Cancellation Policy describes full refund requests for paid plans that have not been activated or used. First, provide the order reference so the status can be checked. Installing a profile alone does not establish that it has been used. Statutory rights remain unaffected.

What if a plan has already been activated or used?

Tell support what happened and include the order reference. Change-of-mind refunds for used plans are considered individually under the policy. However, usage does not remove genuine service-failure claims or remaining statutory rights. Read the full policy for the applicable process.

What if I see a duplicate charge or missing order?

Contact Teliny with the reference and a brief description. Do not repeatedly retry a payment whose status is unclear. Also, keep full card numbers and passwords out of messages. Support can check the records and explain the appropriate next step.

Troubleshooting, support & privacy

My eSIM is installed but has no data. What should I check?

First, check destination coverage, plan validity and your selected data line. Next, follow the package’s roaming and network instructions. Restart the phone if appropriate. Keep the profile installed and contact support before deleting it or scanning its code again.

My installation code is not working. What should I do?

Check that you are using the correct details and have a reliable internet connection. A code may be restricted to a supported device or a single installation. Therefore, avoid repeated scans or deleting profiles. Send support the error message, without posting the full QR code publicly.

How do I contact Teliny?

Email contact@teliny.com or use the website’s optional chat. Messages can be submitted at any time, while human replies depend on availability. Chat may include automated assistance. Visit the Help Centre; a fixed reply time or 24/7 human service is not promised.

What details should I send to support?

Include your destination, exact phone model, a short description and an order or support reference if available. Also, explain which setup steps you tried. Hide passwords, full payment details and activation codes in screenshots, and never post a complete eSIM QR code publicly.

Can I get help without enabling chat?

Yes. You can email Teliny without allowing optional chat. You can also review chat choices through Cookie settings. The Privacy Policy explains the information processed for browsing, email and optional support features.

How do I ask about my personal information?

Email contact@teliny.com with your request. Proportionate identity verification may be needed before information is disclosed, so avoid sending unnecessary identity documents. The Privacy Policy explains data rights, retention and relevant contact information.
